Behind Your Eyes

I didn’t know what stable looked like
My life has been so transient – cardboard houses,
changing faces, and unfamiliar lime pastures,
Until I looked into your eyes like two blue skies,
I found a home in their depths, in your soul,
I became moored in certainty, a place that’s secure,
Your smile opened the door that I stepped through
Location doesn’t matter, as long as you’re there,
I will feel at home anywhere that we go,
Because our connection is stronger than red bricks
And water – it is familiar – we have a place in each other.
