Aspiring to be an impartial presence on the interviews is the Interview and Review Editor, Chloe Santiago. Chloe graduated in 2025 studying a BA English Literature at Cardiff University.
She desires to establish comfortable, productive atmosphere within her interviews whilst ffectively uncovering the raw character of those who choose to share. She truly believes that there is always a vivid story underlying in everybody’s lives, and she sees it as her duty as Interview Editor to unearth and cultivate such riches.
As Reviews Editor, she seeks to bring a consistently informed, objective view on pertinent media pieces. Whether that be a recent news headline, a controversial novel or an Oscar-nominated film, she vowed to produce valuable criticisms that cause Grey Bear readers to pause and think.
While some may feel Chloe’s cultural taste polarising, her particular interests are wide and diversified. She is personally invested in the shattering impact of diasporic identities and communities, but is also fascinated with analysing the general buzz surrounding popular novels, films and music.
Her literary interests are of a similar nature to her cultural ones: subjectively confused. She is particularly interested in a variety of genres and forms, such as Gothic literature, the postcolonial canon, psychological thrillers and cheesy commercial romantic fiction.
Within Grey Bear, Chloe is excited and hopeful f the responses to the various Grey Bear pieces soon to be published. It would be interesting to develop an insightful, productive conversation with readers, seeing how they may form their own understanding and judgements of our pieces. With readerly reception, I believe Grey Bear will only exponentially evolve and flourish.
